It's gone out this morning - I sent it priority and it was 5 euro which is around 7 USD! Couldn't believe how cheap it was - hope the lady in the post office got it right and didn't think I meant some town in France called 'Japon'!

reneebobby 07-07-2009 04:49 AM

Yes I love this one too. They are all beautiful. Now I am not so sure about mine.

Lacelady 07-07-2009 08:54 AM

For those of us who were too late to join in this swap, will you all post pictures of your Japanese quilts when you get them please?

k3n 07-07-2009 09:03 AM

Thank you K, I wish I had joined the board sooner. Perhaps the Japanese ladies might like to do the whole thing again sometime, so that I can put my name down.

I hope so! Depends if they like our work I suppose! :? :D

Everyone has created stellar quilts! I love how they all turned out. You gals are so creative and I can see you went above and beyond for our Japan Twist. I think our Japanese counterparts are going to be thrilled. Let's hope they want to trade again so we can get more participants!

Ninnie 07-07-2009 02:53 PM

I sent my package to the post office with DH this morning. He came home and said he had to fill out another address label, and he hoped he got it right!  I hope so also!

I guess if It comes back to me, I'll take it myself next time. Said he had to fill out a form and put down that it was a gift. It cost him 17.00

The man at the Post Office wasn't much help, said he didn't know much about it, had never sent a package to Japan before!! Ah, life in a very small town!!!

I had wraped it all lup in paper and put it in a large squishy envelope, I didn't want things to be moving around in it! He didn't say how much it weighted, but I'm sure more than it should!

youme 07-07-2009 02:57 PM

K3n said she trained her post office lady for international shipping. LOL

youme 07-07-2009 03:13 PM

My guy would have a heart attack!
We live on a country route, so have to go to the post office to mail a package. I taped it up good. hope it gets there in one piece, if not blame it on my local guy!

youme 07-07-2009 03:37 PM

Well the lady there almost swooned.
She might be afraid of my visit. LOL

pittsburgpam 07-08-2009 02:08 PM

Thos are all so nice, I'm sorry that I didn't see this thread sooner.

One question... what size are the doll quilts? Maybe I can keep it in mind and do some while working on full sized ones.

Ninnie 07-08-2009 02:21 PM

They can be 12" by 12" up to 24" by 24"

And soooooooo much fun!!!!The neat thing about them is that they don't take a long time to make! :D
Come and join in the fun!

Mine have been coming out a little big bigger because I put the edge on it. I've always got to be the different one lol

mine also. Terri, but didn't want to tell on myself!  Just not good here at rules! This time it is smaller, trying to make a mini! Never worry about the exact size when I'm designing it!

tlrnhi 07-09-2009 01:24 AM

I'm good at rules. The little quilt WAS the size it was supposed to be. Not MY fault when I put the edge on it, it made it bigger!

Mine's slightly smaller this time T, so you can have my extra inches! :D

tlrnhi 07-09-2009 01:28 AM

Aww....thanks! lol

Ok, headed to get something to eat. :)

3 Attachment(s)
The doll quilts for Japan twist is landing one by one.
Thank you very much, ladies. Hope you will get yours very soon. Guess who is getting the first from Japan??? I sent them all at once except for Kendra's.
According to the request from tulip43, I am posting the picture of her quilt. It is really beautifully handquilted.

KGoodhand 07-14-2009 04:05 AM

Okay, I have to ask, what happened to the one for Kendra?!? Hopefully there are no problems?!?! I am waiting patiently for the mail to arrive. Just let me know when it is mailed out so I know when to start watching! Thanks very much!
Kendra

Kendra

The dog ate it? lol

youme 07-14-2009 05:30 AM

No,no,no. No dog ate it.LOL
Kendra's quilt was sent separately by the lady here who made a quilt for her. Since she was not in time for the deadline here, she wanted to send it by herself later on. Then Kendra's quilt was the only one that had arrived here already at that time, I left it to her and she should have sent it a couple of days later than the others' that I took care of mailing.
I hope you understood what I meant to say.
Sorry to make you get nervous, Kendra.

tlrnhi 07-14-2009 08:13 AM

Oh, come on...make her sweat a little lol

Chele 07-14-2009 08:18 AM

Am I going to have to stop the car? LOL!

kwhite 07-14-2009 10:17 AM

Youme I sent your package today. WOW I really know now I cannot afford the IRR. Everything in the box is for you except the quilt in the gift bag. I put in a note too. Please let me know when you get it. Thanks

youme 07-14-2009 01:51 PM

Kwhite, I can't wait to receive your package!!
Expecting a squishy is such fun.

Hope the packages I sent you all will reach you very soon .
