How beautiful! I'll bet it put a smile on both of your faces to see what you were both able to create! (Remember, he picked the material!)

wow Colleen! that is beautiful! i am so excited after seeing this. long story short, i'm working on an asian block-of-the-month for my daughter (adopted from Vietnam) and this would be perfect to coordinate with it! i can use the 'scraps'! i've just inquired via e-mail from my local quilt shop to see if they can get the pattern by Betty Blais.
THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU! |
Great Job..To bad you didn't get a picture of his face when he saw it!
|
That is just gorgeous. Are you going to make it a wall hanging? It is "suitable for framing," it is so good!
What a nice Christmas story too! |
Beautiful! I love the fabrics and pattern. What a treasured gift.

Wow!! Beautiful work and I love the story behind the quilt.

thank you everyone for your kind words.. i am really trying to teach myself new things, and yes along the way there are lots of mishaps.. but isn't that part of learning? the basic kimono design is a 9 block pieced pattern.. i added to it to make it bigger .. i searched the internet for things that inspired me,,happened to be the dragon fly and the chinese lantern. dont ask me why,, i see it, i like it,,i do it ! i sit for hours and look at what you ladies and gentlemen have done and the inspirations are flowing all the time. i am getting ready to try a new technique again so stay tuned,,(for months) lol.
