Jewel Quilt
 

Got a pack of 25 Batik fat quarters from Connecting Threads. I took out the green purple and blue and made this. I wasn't brave enough to use black as background but wanted to.

It's a beauty!!! Great job

Beautiful quilt - Black would have been fine too, but I find sewing black fabric is very difficult on my eyesight.

I'm not fond of sewing or knitting with black either. My eyes are fine but it strains them anyway.

Beautiful quilt and I love the colors. If you have enough batiks left maybe you could make another quilt, same pattern, and use black as the background. Sort of an "opposites" quilt set.

I think you chose right to use the white background instead of black. While I've often admired quilts made with black backgrounds, in this case I'm not sure sure if there would be enough contrast between the dark blue and black. But I'm no expert! Beautiful quilt! Love It!
