Cordelia 03-30-2008 03:20 PM

I got my mom that side winder for Christmas. It's pretty neat.

tlrnhi 03-30-2008 03:21 PM

Did ya buy anything for me??

henryparrish76 03-30-2008 03:25 PM

I really do like the bobbin winder it works great!

henryparrish76 03-30-2008 03:26 PM

All for me!!!!!! (laughs maniacally)

Cordelia 03-30-2008 03:29 PM

That bobin winder does work great. My mom (must be an old dog not learning new tricks) doesn't use it.

I'll sit with that thing and wind a bunch of bobins and put it away. She'll wind as she goes on her machine and that's just how I guess most people do. That's not to say she doesn't appreciate all the pre-wound bobins and the convenience of not having to wind-on-the-spot.

What sewing machine do you use?

I use a cheap little Janome Gold thingy. Works great. Mom's got the big computer driven embroidery/sewing machine and two other fancy sewing machines.

Cathy M 03-30-2008 03:33 PM

Henry you are a dog.... (not really) I went to Joann's to buy the sidewinder last night and got so wrapped up in buying other stuff I walked out without it... sigh.... but I am planning to pick one up this week. Looks like you had a great time there. Just remember.... when you buy the chain it has to be called Joann Henry's. Have fun sewing :):):)

Belinda 03-30-2008 05:19 PM

So what have you got goin on in that creative mind of yours Henry?? :?: Looks like some things for kids or maybe some baby quilts?? :?: Everything looks like so much fun! You must have had a great time and I'm sure they love to see you walk in the door! :D

henryparrish76 03-30-2008 05:26 PM

I use a hand me down Brother's sewing machine

henryparrish76 03-30-2008 05:26 PM

awww, don't forget to get it. Well that would be okay considering my sisters name is Joanne

henryparrish76 03-30-2008 05:27 PM

I am going to make some kid/baby quilts. :)

Kyiav10 03-30-2008 05:32 PM

See. Henry, the girls were right, they knew you'd buy more than just the black fabric. Say it after me....

My name is Henry and I am a fabraholic.

HAHAH....great purchases. I love the train fabric.

Kyia

henryparrish76 03-30-2008 05:46 PM

It was your train quilt I thought of when i saw the train fabric and the applique. So I had to pick them up. Did you use a pattern for your train quilt?

BDor 03-30-2008 05:54 PM

Henry
Did you leave anything for anyone else or did you clean the store out?

Beverly

henryparrish76 03-30-2008 06:17 PM

Oh there was plenty more left, now if i had more money to spend there would have been even less cause there were so many things i wanted to get

Jaynie 03-30-2008 07:37 PM

Glad to here the bobbin winder works great....I almost bought one, but hadn't heard of anyone that had one, so I didn't get it. I will sure watch for it on sale again and pick one up. I am jealous of all your treasures you bought....have fun with them.

sondray 04-01-2008 02:29 AM

Did you leave anything for us? :) :)

barnbum 04-01-2008 03:21 AM

My favorite is the teddy bear on blue and white.... I'll be looking to see what you do with that! :D

Hmm, all this baby stuff. Henry, is there anything you're not telling us?

Up North 04-01-2008 04:32 AM

I love the camping fabric. My grandkids would love quilts out of that!

quiltwoman 04-01-2008 06:31 AM

Henry, you must have a huge JoAnns. Mine is not the greatest and not very big. I don't find too many things there. Usually, thread.

I think you might want to consider a career change. Ever thought of professional shopper? You find so many wonderful things!

Can't wait to see what you come up with.
Have fun while I drool over my keyboard,
Julie

Do ALL of you realise HOW lucky you are - try living in Spain, where quilting fabrics are VERY scarce - We have to buy on the internet most of the time, and it can be difficult to see the colours and stuff - So I'm as envious as can !!.

Henry love em all, but especially the blue teddy bears - its so sweet, can't wait to see your latest creations.

p.s. Just so you can imagine how rare fabric is here - One of our avid long time quilting buddys brought in 3 carrier bags of scraps - The room was in a total frenzy in 1 minute flat, scrambling about on the floor, and fighting over the tiniest pieces!! It was like the first day at the Harrods sale, all rushing and pushing and grabbing.....awwwhh I want that bit, - NO!! ITS MINE!!!....So am off now to see what I managed to grab!!

henryparrish76 04-01-2008 01:10 PM

yes, im not completely made of money....lol

henryparrish76 04-01-2008 01:11 PM

Barnbum........I wish! LOL:)

henryparrish76 04-01-2008 01:11 PM

I would love to be a professional shopper but i dont know of how to go about being one,.....LOL
