Judi Martin Log Cabin variation pattern - Finished!!!
6 Attachment(s)
I started this project over Christmas break. It's a Judy Martin Log Cabin variation quilt which the name escapes me. The final size is 55x75
Originally I put a white border between the field and outer border, but I didn't like it, so I changed it to the green This is the backing fabric - a yellow batik A couple close ups: Thanks for looking! |
Gorgeous! You made the right decision to chnge the border from white to green.
great closeups -- now i can see the logs! looks complicated, but i'm sure there is a method to the madness --
curious as to what size [finished or raw] are the little white caps? |
Love your quilt! Yes, the green is much better than the white!
The finished logs are 1 inch wide. So the white squares are 1in x 1in finished (1 1/2" cut).
Some opportunity for assembly line sewing, but not alot. |
A good job.
great quilt! that was quite a job, but a great finish

Wow that looks like a lot of piecing. It turned out very pretty.
What a beautiful quilt and agree with everyone that the green border is better.
A lot of work! Lovely fabrics, good design decision. I'll bet you can't wait to get this one bound and on the bed.

Lovely quilt! :)
Super job. I love the green border.
It is interesting the way it is put together. Green is my favorite color.
Great closeups. Would have never seen your beautiful batiks clearly. I meet Judi Martin at Quilt Market in '95. She is a very nice person and helped me with her Log Cabin pattern with stars in the corner for a client.
very pretty, looks like tedious work too.
What a lovely quilt!
Beautiful quilt.
All that effort paid off. It's beautiful!
It's beautiful and looks like it was a fun quilt to put together. Nice work... also agree you had the right idea on changing out the border.
Very interesting pattern. Looks beautiful.
That book by Judy Martin is one of my favorites for sure. Who knows when I will get around to doing one of them! I think you have constructed a marvelous quilt. I really like the fabrics you chose to use and I agree about your border choice. The white would have distracted from the whole of the design. The green is very nice.
Excellent work and color choices (border).
Very beautiful and so creative. Love batiks and that backing is gorgeous.
Beautiful quilt!
Beautiful! Green is my favorite color.
