Sort of. This is actually named for Sherrill Kahn, a designer for Robert Kaufmann. She also does a ton of rubber stamp designs and has books out.

There are 25 different fabrics in the top and back. 22 of them are her design. I guess I am addicted with her designs (or is it obsessed?) and have a stash that is overflowing. I need a top for my first QS quilt to be done on my mid arm Tin Lizzy 18 so this is it. It looks complicated, it's very simple, the design came out of a recent Quilters Fabric magazine (modified by me of course) and was a lot of fun to make. Finished blocks are 10x10, there are 42 of them in the middle, a small inner border, then a row of 10x5 blocks, then the large outer border.

Will show you more photos when the quilt is complete.

Thanks to all,

This quilt makes me think of California (the blues for the sky at various times and the ocean, the reds/yellows/oranges make me think of wildfires you all have out there). What a glorious piece of work. Congrats!

Ducky 09-02-2009 10:41 AM

Wow, Tim! This is a fun one to look at! Is it paper pieced? What will you do with this?

The Babe 09-02-2009 12:12 PM

Tim, is this kind of like a "stack the deck" type block?

k_jupiter 09-02-2009 12:23 PM

yep. Stack, cut, shuffle, sew, re-stack, turn 90 degrees, cut, shuffle, sew, trim.

Easy peesy with a sharp rotary cutter (60mm)

But still a lot of work.

Not paper pieced, layered and cut, then re-sewn. What I plan on doing with most of my quilts. Use them. *L*

It needs to be put on the quilting frame and quilted.
