This is my second attempt at free hand quilting. This quilt is a charity quilt for my guild. It came as a kit but I did not like some of the fabrics that came with it so I replaced about 25% of it with fabrics from my stash. I did some creative piecing on the back cause they did not give me enough fabrics for the back.

We also (DH, DSGF and I) sandwiched and spray basted 4 quilts tonight. I now have about 12 that are waiting to be quilted! :oops: :oops: Also Have a baby quilt that all it needs is a label. Wish there were more hours to quilt!!!

That is lovely...both front and back. I've never bought a kit but it seems that I hear folks complain a lot about not getting enough fabric for something with them.

This wasn't a purchased kit. The ladies of our guild will put together kits from donated fabrics. So this was a kit that someone just put together, we pick up and do whatever we want (piecing, sandwiching etc) Then we return it and if it's not finished someone else will pick it up and finish it

Almost a little too bright lol! The cat fabric on the back is really cute, most of the fabrics are Laurel Birch.
I'm sure that this quilt will end up going to some young lady who will love it!!!

Thanks, sometimes you have to get creative to make it work. I like to put extra blocks on the back sometimes too just for the fun of it, it gives it a little more umph
