A little bit ago, I posted a pic of a Singer Futura that my DH got from my Bernina dealer for a song! (He wanted me to have a back up embroidery machine). I was tickled with it, but little did I know that while he was there he negotiated with the dealer to trade in my Bernina 730 and my Juki and frame to get me a....Bernina 830 Limited Edition for my birthday! He managed to get a whole bundle with the Grace frame, groovy boards and the Jumbo hoop! I still feel like I am going to wake up and it will have been a dream. I feel kinda guilty, but, I sure am loving my wonderful new machine. (We both still work, the kids are on their own, and DH says with the deal he got, it is the time to do it before we retire.) Goodness I love that man!!!!!!!!

So here is a picture of my new toy, her name is Ruby. She and I put together the runner in the picture to help us get acquainted.

He is a wonderful man, been my love for 35 years!
I got Ruby a few days before my birthday and was home sick on my birthday. Felt so miserable, couldn't even play with Ruby, so I just sat in my rocking chair, snuggled under a quilt and gazed lovingly at her :( But we are making up for lost time now. :thumbup:

I thought all I would ever do is dream of a machine like this...he has been getting heaps of praise and thanks, let me tell you!

And, there is an awesome custom made table/chest coming for her in June. Our Bernina dealer has a Mennonite gentleman that makes them for him. It has a drawer that will fit the embroidery module perfectly. Will keep it close at hand, but out of the dust and clutter of the sew room. He definitely will be getting lots of hugs and kisses for a long time to come! (Ummm, my DH, not the Mennonite gentleman ;) )

Happy Birthday! I am all caught up in your excitement with you. Just blows my mind when my dh does something like this for me. Sometimes you think they aren't even thinking about it,(why would they) and then there you are. I am sure you will love the machine.

I was just at a Bernina Educational Event yesterday at a local sewing machine dealer store, so I know what those babies cost. Woohoo...that is one nice present. You will be have so much fun with that machine.

Next time you go to your dealer, ask them about the cutwork software and cutwork "needle" (It really is a chisel like knife you use instead of a needle). You won't believe what it will do....you won't need to ever cut out an applique again!!!! Your machine will cut out shapes, 10 layers of fabric at once. Soooo impressive. No other machine can do this...only Bernina.

Thanks, I will have to check it out. When you get an 830 LE, you can choose to go to a VIP Event in Chicago where you have 2 days of seminars and projects learning about the machine. Guess where DH and I are going on vacation 8-) Maybe they will show that attachment there. :-)
