Good luck to you on your surgery. I had a total knee replacement in July '09 and have done great. Therapy is the most important part of it.

My mom had surgery on her knee about 5 months ago and is doing wonderfully. She says that she almost wishes that she had done it sooner. Her knee feels soooo much better now, but after surgery she said that she almost wished that she didn't have it done. lol oh well she is walking much better now and no restrictions at all. Hope that your surgery goes well and you will be in my prayers.

gail-r 11-03-2010 07:08 AM

Beautiful beautiful!! Good luck with the knee. My DSIL mom just had it done and she is doing amazing, climbing stairs and it has only been 3 weeks. You may not be out of your sewing room as long as you might think. Good wishes to you.

Don't be scared. It will all be a blur when you get home. Try to relax and read or stitch quietly for awhile. I wish you a very fast recovery. Your quilt is really beautiful.

Your quilt is beautiful. Good luck with your surgery. Have several friends who have had this done and each has said after the first initial recovery, they are so glad they had it done.

IBQUILTIN 11-03-2010 11:36 AM

Good luck with your surgery. You will be back at it before you know it. Maybe try some applique while you are laid up? Just relax and enjoy whatever you decide to do.

I love that and he's sure to love it. Best of luck on your surgery. I just had knee surgery two weeks ago to repair my torn maniscus and the surgeon told me that I was a good canidate for partial knee replacement. I knew it was coming, I just hope I can last a little while before I have to have it. Anyways, best of luck and may you heal quickly!!!

nannya54 11-03-2010 01:12 PM

Just don't do too many wild things with your quilts while you're on the pain meds. I had both knees done last year in Jan and Feb. The second one was easy. Good luck from one who has been there.

grannyQ 11-03-2010 02:58 PM

Hope your surgery went well and soon to be back sewing. Very pretty quilt, sure your grandson will love it.

Will definitely be remembering you tomorrow. My doctor has told me I need both knees replaced... I'm just putting it off as long as I can! But, I do know what knee pain is like. Hope this clears it up for you and you'll be back up and going soon. Let us hear from you when you can.

I just had both knees replaced on Sept 1 this year. I think I waited too long as I have not much strength in the muscles of my legs, since for the past several years I have simply gone from chair to chair. It hurt so to walk and stand. Now it does not hurt to walk, only the rising from a chair is difficult! I actually stood and cut out a whole quilt last night and trimed the edges on another this a.m. before a friend sewed on the binding (I hate that part, but like to hem the binding after it has been sewn on!). And today I sewed (for the first time since surgery) for 3 hours on a log cabin quilt, getting up to press after each 12 logs had been sewn on! I am soooooooo much better. Wish I had not waited so long! Hope you have yours done soon and that all goes well. :)

Love your quilt and the pinwheels in the corners. All the best with your knee surgery and wishing you a speedy recovery.

Totally awesome! What is the name of the pattern?
Good luck with your knee surgery. I know the hardest part is the recovery period. Time & Patience! Can't wait to see your New York Beauty! I made one also which is posted somewhere here.
Hugs

Praying for a speedy and comfortable recovery. God Bless you.

nwm50 11-03-2010 04:49 PM

really, really, really like this one ! Is this easy to do? Looks like it involves lots of math/placements. Have a quick recovery too but rest as you should !!
