Yesterday I presented my DH's physcian with the quilt I made her in appreciation of her compassionate care. She is a member of the Transplant Team - DH had a transplant in 1999, and we feel she has gone above and beyond in her care for him and our family.
Interestingly, her first reaction was "My favorite colors!" Now I have never been to her home, but when I saw that line of fabric, it just made me think of her so I made the quilt HOPING she would like it. I named the quilt "Ana Square" - Ana is her first name. It was quilted by Charismah. DH with 'Dr. Ana' |

What a precious gift. My husband is a surgeon (now disabled) but one of his patients gave him a postage stamp quilt done by hand. I appreciated it before I learned to quilt but after I learned and started machine quilting...I treasure the love and labor that she put into it even more! It hangs in our country basement for all to see! She didn't label it and I regret that, I did not know her name so I cannot do that for her. What a testimony of love for someone.

beautiful quilt
|
How thoughtful, and serendipitous that they are her favorite colors! When doctors have bad days, it's that kind of generosity and thoughtfulness that gets them through.
