Just finished this UFO from a swap we did on here. This one is for my DD. She picked out the border and sashing fabrics.

Now that says "Christmas"....love the border fabric.

It is difficult to put different size blocks together so they look great but you have done it admirably. Great, great job ending as a beautiful quilt gift.

roguequilter 11-24-2016 11:21 AM

wonderful quilt! i would like to save a copy of this picture for my idea file if ok with you. my grand treasures want their next bed quilts to be chistmas quilts ...to be used on their beds year round :). i've been collecting ideas & fabric for a few years. they want snow men, santas, reindeer, christmas trees ...it will be challenging for me as i only do traditional vintage style quilts ...but your blocks & arrangement is so wonderful ...
thank you for sharing here ..i love your quilt & your dd will treasure it forever!

I forgot the buttons on the snowman and the yo yo's on the hats, so I put them on.

QuiltnNan 11-24-2016 12:32 PM

nicely done

Oh, what a lovely bright and cheerful Christmas Quilt, I fancy waking up to find that on my bed on Christmas day A lot of hard work went into placing the blocks together and I love it. The picture alone would make a lovely Christmas Card, thanks for sharing it.

Just like typos, mistakes jump out at us when we proof read, I hadn't noticed the missing buttons but glad you fixed it up.

Your quilt is fantastic!!! So glad you pulled it out of your UFO stack. The border and sashing fabric is perfect, your daughter has a great eye.

alikigirl 11-25-2016 06:29 AM

This is the kind of sampler I love - where the blocks are different sizes. It is like a puzzle to put together. Yours turned out beautiful, with such a great assortment of blocks.

rosiewell 11-25-2016 07:22 AM

it looks great, very creative putting together all those block!

Thanks for sharing. It's just a wonderful piece. I would get it out the day after Thanksgiving....Oh that was yesterday and use it until Valentines Day.

sandyl 11-26-2016 05:00 AM

Absolutely adorable! Wondering about the swap. Was it Christmas blocks? We are always looking for fun ideas for our quilt group. How many blocks was each person to do? And the same identical block? Sorry for so many questions. You ended up with such a wonderful variety.

EmiliasNana 11-26-2016 05:45 AM

This is adorable. It looks like a lot of work, but fun as each block is so different. I have a similar pattern from years ago...........purchased patterns by the month, and still love it. You may have given me the inspiration to tackle it for next year. Mine would have to hang on the wall however as no one ever sees the bedroom and I keep an old sheet on it anyway because of the dogs.

Here is a link to the swap: http://www.quiltingboard.com/member-...p-t250185.html
I made extras for this quilt, in fact I made about 19 of the blocks in it. So not all were from the swap.

annette1952 11-26-2016 09:31 AM

Wow! It is just beautiful! Great job!

DDuMouchel 11-26-2016 12:47 PM
