Holy Cow that's one great quilt! I have a pattern for a Bargello just haven't got the nerve or courage to start it.
I love yours. |
Beautiful quilt!
I've backed batik quilts with batik backing and had no trouble quilting it. (I quilt on a DSM) So if batik is how you want to go, I say go for it. BUT...that top is glorious so you don't want to detract from it; and a king-size quilt worth of batiks for a backing isn't going to be cheap, even if you buy wide backing. If this were MY quilt, I'd go for a simple, solid-color backing that coordinates with the top, and use batik for the binding. You kinda can't go wrong at this point, though. :) Very nice quilt. |
I would def use batik for the backing. One of the same in the front.

Clarification = I would choose a batik from the front and use it for the back. Gorgeous quilt!

Pretty quilt! I would be tempted to go with a print for the back, something with all of those colors. I'm with those who say you don't want to use a batik on the back. The fabric used to print batiks tends to get bigger holes when quilted since the weave on batiks is sort of rigid rather than malleable as most cottons are, so it would be a nice balance to have something non-batik on the back.
