La Passacaglia Update #7 - Almost Done!

1 Attachment(s)
My Passacaglia is almost done... I am planning one more rosette at the top and some "filling in the gaps" and then need to find a suitable fabric to appliqué it on.

Awesome, I haven't worked on mine lately.

Tartan 08-06-2016 12:58 PM

Wonderful! I am relieved to hear you are going to applique it rather then square it.

grannie cheechee 08-06-2016 01:01 PM

A work of art.

How are you going to applique it onto a background piece?

BrendaK 08-06-2016 10:20 PM

Stunning. BrendaK

I can't wait to see the fabric you pick to appliqué on. It is such an interesting and lovely quilt.

QM 08-07-2016 04:52 AM

It is absolutely amazing. IMHO, it would go well on a very dark green, but I am sure whatever you select will be perfect.

Tweety2911 08-07-2016 05:22 AM

This is a breathtaking quilt.

Geri B 08-07-2016 05:55 AM

Texas_Sue 08-08-2016 03:04 AM

So beautiful. Will you do another? I find that the handwork, picking the fabrics, prep and seeing the pattern develop is so addictive. You have done an awesome job. Thanks for sharing.

Davena 08-08-2016 04:56 AM

Monale, your Quilt is absolutely beautiful and I applaud all your hard work put in to this masterpiece. I am just going to undertake doing this quilt . It is a bit over whelming at first, but I hope when school is back in and grandchildren are gone home, ( don't get me wrong I enjoy having them in the summer) I can finally take the time and start this project. Yours is definitely an inspiration.

carolynjo 08-08-2016 05:36 AM

That is absolutely wonderful: your piecing is impeccable; the design is marvelous; your choice of colors is "spot on"; your patience is unbelievable. I can't wait till the next phase of completion.

meanmom 08-08-2016 06:09 AM

Beautiful. Each one of these is more beautiful than the last one I saw. I would love to make one, but I don't like to do hand sewing so I would never ever finish one. Quite an accomplishment!

NopahDesertRat 08-08-2016 01:29 PM

Beautiful work. First quilt I have seen using a pentagon. I have been trying to design one, so far just in the design stage. No fabric cut or sewn. Yours is awesome, did you use a pattern? If so where did you get it?
I think I would plan to use the same size medallions.

Ethel

I love seeing your progress! I am also making it, but with a limited pallette-blues, greens, and purples. I can't wait to see your all done- beautiful job!

The pattern is called "La Passacaglia" and is from the book "Millefiori Quilts" by Willyne Hammerstein. That said, I did not purchase the book but worked from pictures and diagrams I found online...

kwiltkrazy 08-12-2016 08:03 PM

wow! can't wait to see how you finish it.

grammysharon 08-12-2016 09:27 PM

i am too. someone somewhere here or other on the web was broken hearted when it csme time to square hers. and i really think the squaring not only took away from the loveliness of her top ..but really defeated the entire thought of the pattern style. (i've been following a few pass projects as i had thought i wanted to do one) ...i love the colorway of yours. beautiful!!! i know now that i still prefer the look of & want to do a Patchwork of the Crosses rather than a pass quilt. yours is the only one i've seen that i like ...nay ...LOVE!! now i can hardly wait for winter & dig in to my scraps to start a crosses project :) suggestion ...if i may? a rich chocolate brown would make this beauty sing as a backdrop for all those lucious fall colors of your rosettes!

mjhaess 08-14-2016 01:43 PM

Looks awesome...

KARENBOUTQUILTIN 08-18-2016 08:39 AM
