I bought this pattern awhile back and just can't figure out my color scheme! I want to do something different, like a multicolor batik for the background or something like that.....

If you already have the pattern and fabric, you should go ahead with it. It is mostly all 5 1/2" squares. As I mentioned earlier, if you follow the DIRECTION of MARKING your HST piles, you will have NO problem putting it together. It didn't take me long to put it together at all. Good Luck and will look forward to YOUR post. lol

And how sweet of you to make one annually! I hope everyone appreciates all your loving time spent making them, and they probably do.

Love that pattern. I made a twin extra long for my extra long son in law for his man cave. Will give it to him for xmas.

Wendys Quilts: It ISN'T a difficult pattern at all and it goes together in a timely manner. It's mostly 5 1/2 inch squares. If you follow the direction of MARKING your HST combinations, it goes together easily. Note that the queen 90x110 pattern does not have that light (background) frame on the sides; and to me, it made the design look incomplete, so I purchased an extra 1 1/2 yds of the Background fabric and added the two-5 1/2" strips (with the HST points of the diamond) to each side, making it square and then eliminated the 10" outer border, making the quilt 90x90. I recommend you go ahead. You will see how simple it is.

I have the pattern as well...thought the same thing as Wendys Quilts...but I quess I will have to dive in and do it....
