I agree...I think the black would be best...red would take away from the attention away from the gorgeous center.

Breathtaking. If she doesn't like it, feel free to send it my way. lol. I think I would bind in black. You don't want to take the eye away from that beautiful applique.

I would do black but either way that is a fantastic quilt! Maybe fold the fabric and try the red on one side and the black on the other and see which one appeals to you. I agree with the opinion that a red border will draw the eye away from your gorgeous applique.

BLACK as you want the eye to rest on the quilt not the binding

Either would do, but I'd do black! This is a stunning quilt- just wonderful. What a gift!

I love your quilt. You have done a wonderful job. I vote for red binding.
