This quilt is made from Jackie Robinson's split stripe pattern. I also used her fabrics. It is all FMQ in a vine pattern. I made it for my son's girlfriends birthday, because I really like her and was hoping that they would someday get married. They broke up 2 days after he gave it to her!!! Such is life, I had fun making it anyway.

This is the front

don't know what to say-your quilt is beautiful, love the colors and ladybugs-i hope she appreciates all of your hard work, and takes care of the quilt even though they broke up. You never know, they may come to an understanding, and get back together again

What a pretty quilt. The ladybugs are a great idea. I have a sister who likes ladybugs. I might put some on her French Braid.

Your colors I love: Tourmaline pink and green.
He may forget her but she will never forget you, that's for sure, unless she is a dolt or something!
How generous of you!

Simply precious! Your choice of fabrics with the pattern are perfect!

I can relate to your situation. I have two boys and no DIL yet! A few I would have liked to keep and a couple I wasn't sure about! Just keeps us waiting in anticipation doesn't it!? But I know I will love the chosen one!

Beautiful quilt and colors. My DD was dating a guy and he loved the KC Chiefs. I special ordered the fabric from the NFL site and guess what. They broke up within the week. Luckily I didn't even cut into the fabric. Guess I will put it up for sale or hang on to it for awhile or try and find her a KC fan. LOL

I can't imagine anyone NOT liking ladybugs!... except for my cousin, when she was younger, of course ANY bug would set her off.. but that's another story LOL

In the old days when a couple broke up it was considered good manners to return a gift like this to the one it came from ,ie;the groom to be should have it. Your loss is sad. The quilt is lovely.
