What was his reaction to the gift? I love it.

He was very surprised and said, 'but I didn't get you anything' and I just told him that gifts are without strings and expectations. Men sometimes have a control issue and if you aren't doing things their way, they think it is wrong. When there was an issue last October with a member agency being disrespectful towards me, he went to the top and did what he could to bar that person and that group from shopping. I think that was the day he became president of my fan club. (LOL)

Love your quilt and your story. It's good that you were able to look past his tough exterior and see him for who he really is.
