    I volunteer at a local food bank on a regular basis. There is one man there that I used to not care for very much but noticed that he worked very hard. Sometimes people just don't have good people skills. But the more I was around him, I have come to like him and really enjoy working with him. He has a great work ethic and doesn't pawn anything on anybody else that he can do himself. For Christmas, I made him a wall-hanging of my favorite animal, the Missouri Mule. They are both smart, strong and stubborn. The warehouse guys felt that I should have used Ass instead of Mule, but that is the difference between men and boys. Here are some pics to share.

    It says;
    MULE
    Smart
    Strong
    Stubborn.

    Thanks for looking.

    I love your story and the quilt, too!! Life is funny that way isn't it? If we can just get beyond our initial impressions of most people, we find that they are very special individuals and touch our lives in so many wonderful ways. ;)

    Some fear what they don't understand,once given a chance,

    It's terrific! Kudos for seeing the "strong" in a hard-to-like individual.

    That's a very nice wallhanging and such a nice gesture. We could all learn a lot from this little lesson.

    Mike loved it. He took it home to show his wife and decided to bring it back to place in his office. He installed the hanger about 2 weeks ago, came and got me to see it. His wife was very disappointed that he didn't leave it at home. I was tempted to make another one for him to have at home but am still thinking. Have my hands full right now.
    Thanks for all the wonderful and kind comments. I got the patterns for the mules from a coloring book about the State of Missouri and googled pics on line. I used batiks and blenders. Used the 60 ruler to make mountains out of batik scraps. I forgot to mention that this is made entirely from scraps.
