Last of the 30s Log Cabin put into Umbrella Girls
1 Attachment(s)
The applique is done by Roberto Fabuloso. I sent him the log cabin blocks put into the squares with white in center to be embroidered by some sorts. My machine only does up to 6" but he has a much larger one and does wonderful work. I just got it quilted last Friday after longarming my thumb. It is still functional but hurts. Did curved cross hatch in the white background and the other fabric has feathers in every corner, every block, and all the sashing. I really like how it has turned out. Will be bound in red. It seems to be the color to go with. This is the last one of a series of five. Several years ago I cut out strips for a log cabin block quilt with applique from Quilter's Newsletter, and they multiplied into five projects, two quilts, one lap quilt, and two wall hangings. I truly love this one which is the only one I have in my possession. I think it represents my four girls.

OMG! you long armed your thumb? Oh, I am ever so careful when I am long arming. If a thread is there, it stays there. I bet you were picking off a thread? I have goose bumps just thinking about it.
The quilt is just lovely tho. |
