Last Minute Gifts done in 1 week!

7 Attachment(s)
I have been away from the board lately because I've been busy making super fast last minute gifts for all my cousins kids. At first, I bought toys because I was going to drive to NJ, BUT after lots of phone calls from my mother and speaking with my boyfriend, I was talked into taking the train! So I returned it all, and decided to make quilts. All but one that needs binding are done in 1 week timeframe! I'm not completely happy with all of them as I know I could have, would have, and should have done better, but for now these will have to do. They have been laundered that's why it looks wrinkly, but I'll press them before I give them out.

The last photo is a D9P that I did a while back, and I will give that to my grandmother!

The next round of gifts are potholders for the aunts and uncles and with one more week before I leave, I have to get those semi done and do the binding on the train or when I get to NJ.

This is what happens when I procrastinate :(:o

Thank you all! I needed your support because you all understand what it takes to make a quilt and the time invested! :)

OMG - those are so cute! You should be very pleased.

Crafty1 12-11-2011 01:54 PM

I'm such a worry wart.... Lol! I hope they like them, even tho kids want toys, I just could fit it into the luggage and it costs more to ship. I could have bought toys in NJ, but with my vision disability and crowded places/malls, I don't think I'd make it.

That's sure a job well done -- a very ambitious project -- all very nice snuggy quilts.

Just a note, tho, while your font change is colorful and pretty, it's a little hard to read.

After I posted I was trying to change it but it didn't work out. Sorry about that!

I still can't believe I did that much in a week! I don't even do that much in a year LOL! Also, I cheated... there's not too many quilting involved, just stitch along the blocks. Which made it go pretty fast. If I really did more stitches inside the blocks then it would have taken forever! Oh well, there's next years, so I better get started when I get back from vacation!

Wow, that's a lot of beautiful quilts you made in such a short period of them. You know, I think the kids will love their quilts more than the toys you orginally bought them.

Yup, pretty fast! Sleep was not in my thoughts this past week, nor will it be this week, I need to finish the pot holders and pack and etc... so I will have to catch up on sleep when I'm on the train :) I also just realized I didn't make anything for the cousins.... what to do? Skip or make about eight mug rugs! Decisions... Decisions!
