Just finished this quilt this weekend decided to add one more border on the outside of the fabric in the center of stars. Which is bluebonnets.
I really like how it turned out.

I think it is definitely worthy of being in a show! Be sure to show us the finished project.

k3n 05-05-2009 03:15 AM

Beautiful and I love the colours and those really sharp star points! Doesn't have to be complex to be worthy of a show - you should definitely enter it!

Outstanding, Everything about it looks perfect, good work :D

vicki reno 05-05-2009 03:36 AM

I have never seen that arrangement of that pattern before. Its like the V8 commercial--somebody hit me up side the head and say "Why didn't I think of that!" Your quilt is gorgeous but I am amazed at the layout. Just goes to show how dumb I am. I am familiar with the pattern but never would have thought of doing it that way. Good job!!!! Let me know when you need my address so you can send it on its way to me!

Square in a square book I, I like the patterns in book one. But find the
instructions in book II much better. You have to have the ruler also.
Special markings make there method so easy.
Thanks for great comments.

I think I figured something out!
Hubby is just looking at the top .... it isn't done yet!
Wait until he sees what the quilt looks like when it is QUILTED!
He just didn't understand what was different about this quilt from the others you have shown him, i'll bet!
I can hardly wait to hear what he says when it is FINISHED!

RedGarnet222 05-05-2009 08:16 AM

Oh how beautiful! It is perfect that you used the bluebonnets in it, being from texas makes them special to you. I have seen pictures of them in a feild of bloom. Wow!

I have the cd, rulers and books too. Jodi sure makes it sound easy. I hope mine turn out as nice as yours has.

Just wait until butterflywing sees this! She has been talking about this method for a while.

Just get it out and get started I watched her video on site, then read
books and when I got the hang of it I just love it. So fast.
I cut this quilt out after work on Wed , started sewing after work on Thurs.
and finished it on Friday.

RedGarnet222 05-05-2009 09:28 AM

Thanks sweetie ...I will start one soon. I have been working on finishing a quilt top that is giving me fits! Then there are three more pressing wip that I have to do first. I made myself a promise to finish up some of my work first, then make this.

I am so glad you showed yours here. It is encouraging that the method works so well. THANKS so much!

Bevanger 05-05-2009 09:48 AM
