i am not on a galloping horse, and this looks great to me. I'm sure your recipient will LOVE it

irquilter 09-14-2011 04:49 AM

I love your fabric choice, and the circles are dancing throughout the quilt, very nice!

toadmomma 09-14-2011 04:51 AM

OH I just love the colors you chose. Great job. DEB

Homespun 09-14-2011 04:53 AM

So pretty

mucky 09-14-2011 05:23 AM

Maybe just stitch in the ditch.

Tweety2911 09-14-2011 05:54 AM

Already some great ideas for quilting and naming. Just wanted to say that I really love the color combination and your quilt is beautiful!

SandyMac 09-14-2011 06:01 AM

Really like you colors and your pattern.

Like this suggestion for the name!! (and the quilting idea). This pattern may have been a pain but is so GORGEOUS!!!

Tudey 09-14-2011 06:33 AM

I like your choice of colors.

Greenheron 09-14-2011 06:34 AM

Humility: how could I give advice to the maker of such an ultra-gorgeous work?

But names, maybe:

Alternate Earths

Music of the Spheres

Lunar Convergence

Dianna's Mirror
(the mythical Moon Goddess).

It's exceptional IMHO and needs a classy name.

grammysharon 09-14-2011 06:49 AM

I love the Once in a Blue Moon name. I think grid quilting would detract from all the circles but that is just my opinion.

:D

Awesome quilt!! Your color choices are fabulous! Maybe to stick with the circle theme for your quilting would be a good choice. Please let us see it finished :-D

Jingle 09-14-2011 07:00 AM

I don't name my quilts, just use the pattern name, if I make up a design I still don't name them.
It is very pretty.

janjer 09-14-2011 07:04 AM

I would do a large meander quilting pattern that wouldn't overpower the beauty of the top and it's a fast pattern to do.
I really like the fabric you chose and you did nice work.

Sheree from Chicago 09-14-2011 07:06 AM

What a beautiful quilt! I also love your sense of humor LOL

katkat1946 09-14-2011 08:36 AM

Can't help with the quilting ideas but need to say how very nice this is; great colors.

lillybeck 09-14-2011 09:24 AM

How does Around We Go sound? As for quilting I think just some meandering would be nice.

nannya54 09-14-2011 10:25 AM

Great job! Beautiful colors! Good luck with the quilting.

Congrats!
A hug!

This is a version of Drunkards Path and this is in a book as SteepleChase.

Mae 09-14-2011 11:09 AM

I use Sharon Schambers Piec-liqué method to sew curves. I use Elmers washable School Glue and a fine tip spout to glue the curves together and sew them after marking the seam line if needed. For instructions, see:

joyce888 09-14-2011 11:23 AM

I agree with the name "Blue Moon" - that's what I saw when I looked at it; also thought "Blue Moon at Midnight". Very very pretty!

grannypat7925 09-14-2011 11:29 AM

Beautiful quilt!

PhotoKevin 09-14-2011 11:42 AM

You may not care for it now because of the problems you have had with sewing those circular seams. Which, by the way, look amazing to me! But, I LOVE this quilt! I love the contrast of colors and variations of colors. And if your DIL doesn't like it or want it, may I get first bid on it?!!!!!! Congrats!

watson's mom 09-14-2011 12:05 PM

What a beautiful quilt, you have done an outstanding job.
Thank you for sharing.

red-warrior 09-14-2011 12:39 PM

Beautiful quilt and I love the colors! I am a newbie and can"t help with the
quilting!

Debd 09-14-2011 12:47 PM

What an absolutely beautiful quilt! I like the name "Blue Moon Waltz" because of the great motion in this quilt.

As for quilting it, echo quilting on the circles would be cool, and might help them pop! Please post a pic when you are done!

MargeD 09-14-2011 03:23 PM

It's a beautiful quilt, but I can see you going in circles on this one. lol. I know my humor can be underwhelming.

brightstar_202 09-14-2011 03:29 PM

Cozy quilter 09-14-2011 04:29 PM

Don't know about the stitching but I just love the quilt! Beautiful.

gramquilter2 09-14-2011 04:53 PM

Love the colors you used and the quilt is beautiful so I know that you will come up with a quilting plan that is just right for your quilt. And I do like Galloping Circles.

Nettie Phillips 09-14-2011 05:24 PM

Very pretty.

patski 09-14-2011 05:51 PM

ribbbbons 09-14-2011 07:48 PM

How about "OCEAN TIDE" The colors fade in and out like the ocean and I would do an e2e of waves on it.

raksmum 09-14-2011 08:43 PM

That is one beautiful quilt! I like the idea of quilting circles inside the circles. I know I couldn't do it freehand but I have confidence that you will be able to

RobertaMarie 09-14-2011 08:47 PM

You must really love your DIL because this is a difficult quilt, but very well done, I think! I love Murphy's suggestion "Once In A Blue Moon" and would love to see it when you finish. Beautiful quilt.....

Heather Hayllar 09-14-2011 10:11 PM
