Mine came with the 4D. Someone told me there is not that much difference in 4D and 5D for the money. But I don't really know about that. I'm pretty sure I can edit with mine. There is still so much to learn, but I am having a blast playing with it. I did do one quilt that I did embroidery on the snowball blocks. Turned out nice.

I have a Janome 11000SE and am still learning the software(the digitizer). I think I have it and can do it but forget if I don't use the digitizer all the time. I can do the simple designs. Did the St. Pats designs come with your machine or did you buy it? They are really cute.

Mine has a 5D that comes with the new machines but then they have the additional software and that's where the big bucks come in. You are right; the 4D and the 5D that comes with the machine is the same, this was confirmed by Viking themselves. I want to get the larger software but that'll probably be in about another yr. In the meantime I'm enjoying playing and checking out all of the freebees out there. I get a lot of things from emblibary.com.

Good for you---learning to use my embroidery stuff was big for me too. I don't do much with a computer except the usual emails, Forum boards, etc.
Machine embroidery is really fun--I just don't have enough to spend doing it.

Don't stop now---keep right on going. Looks Great

You will love embroidery. I feel in love with it right after I got my machine. Love making quilts with embroidery blocks. Keep learning and you will have so much fun. Great embroidery

I went to an Amazing Design two day event and signed up for the Ultimate Designs package. I get 1200 designs of my choice over the course of a year. I have found it to be worth the money.

Very nice. When I was learning how to use my embroidery machine, I made Jenny Haskins Heritage quilt. With the help of my sewing sisters, the quilt is finished. Enjoy!
