Left Over Fish

1 Attachment(s)
I had some left over fish from an appliqued quilt. I decided to add a few new ones, maybe a fishing pole and reel. Have more left over weeds to add in and some fishy background fabric. Should have it together in a week or so. Will call it The Fishing Hole!

DebraK 07-27-2012 06:40 AM

I love your fish, and they are not at all as stinky as your post title implies ;-)

Your fish are so wonderful. They have such texture

w7sue 07-27-2012 06:48 AM

You have some beautiful fish there - not at all "left-over" - I have to admit I was a little worried about what kind of story you were going to tell. It will be so much fun to see a picture of both quilts - I always like to see what people do with "left-overs".

I had to open it because last night my daughter opened our spare freezer and pulled a white package out of it and complained about its "fishy" smell. I laughed because before I came home from Sisters (after the quilt show) she asked me to bring home some extra big ice pops from the little store at the Metolius. They were her favorite last year and she can't find the big ones here in town. The lady knew I would be transporting them and since they were already frozen, she took two of their white bags and wrapped them up in it. Samantha had completely forgotten she asked me to bring them home and thought the bags had fish in them - long, narrow, bags looked like freezer paper - I had to laugh at her!

Agreed! I like them. Make sure to post a pic of the finished quilt (with a reminder of this post for those of us who will promptly forget and then be confused)

You did a wonderful job on your fish! I love them. I think It is looking more and more like an aquarium. Maybe you could add some other aquarium things to it. You've got a great start going there!

BrendaK 07-27-2012 05:00 PM

Beautiful. Can't wait to see the finished project. BrendaK

IMHO I think a fishing pole would detract from the beautiful fish you have. May be just call it the fish pond or the aquarium and let the fish live a peaceful life in their watery home. It is beautiful. I love the rocky bottom. and fish fabrics. Colors a re great.

peace

I'm so glad that your post is about fabric fish and not the ole dead ones. They are gorgeous. Thanks for sharing.

feline fanatic 07-29-2012 10:44 AM

What wonderful fish. You did an awesome job picking out fabrics for this. And the puns that are showing up in the replies are hilarious.

I too would interested in the pattern.

4dogs 07-29-2012 11:51 AM

Love your Fish!! These look very much like Susan Carlson's work....by any chance are they? If not, could you share what they are?

http://www.susancarlson.com/Welcome.html

I got both her books but haven't tried anything yet. And got the tote on there...with the rhino on it. Her fish patterns look similar but not exactly like yours.

carolaug 07-29-2012 02:16 PM

Great job on the Fish!! That is going to look AWESOME!

carolaug 07-29-2012 02:21 PM

Would love to go to that retreat..but 400.00 is a bit much for me. Her quilts look fabulous!

boohoofish 07-29-2012 02:41 PM

Looking great - can hardly wait to see finished "fishes".

southernmema 07-29-2012 03:50 PM
