I sure wish I was that good at "throwing together." I stress over a D9P. Congratulations on a beautiful quilt and a finished project.

I just can't believe this was, "just thrown together". It is beautiful!!!
Love the colors and everything about it.

I agree with Homespun, it's hard to believe that you just threw this quilt together. Would you like to come over and throw a few quilts together for me some day? LOL. I just looked to see where you live and my daughter lived for a while in Herndon, VA when she was working for the Roanoke, VA airport as Director of Operations and Maintenance. She did like VA, however, she left the end of Feb. this year to move to Sydney, Australia to be with her new husband. They celebrated their first year anniversary July 27. It's so far away, but I can't say that I blame her, as I moved to NH after having lived in the Midwest my entire life, first SD, then NE; but when my DH returned from Viet Nam, this is where the work was in electronics and computers. Tough move for me as most of my family is still in the Midwest.

You should "throw quilts together" more often. This came out wonderful. Isn't it a good feeling to finish a UFO?

Yes... Yes... Yes... I love finishing any quilt but especially something that has been nagging at me on a shelf for years.

Baptist Fan "Stencil"

Someone asked me what I used to mark the Baptist fans. It is the Easy Circle Cut ruler by Sharon Hultgren. I believe I bought it at Joann's with a 50 percent off coupon.

I used a blue water-soluble marker on every other groove to give one-inch markings. When I washed the quilt after it was finished, all of the blue markings were gone.

If you 'threw' this together, I wonder what a planned quilt would look like made by you. This is a beautiful quilt.

Your quilt is great! IMHO Baptist fan quilting is so traditional and adds such beauty to many quilts! Love it.

AUQuilter 08-12-2015 05:35 AM

Beautiful quilt and the Baptist Fan quilting really sets off the pattern!
