What do you think - which is better?

Like both! Depends on recipient...!!

To give some "context", I'd like to put use them with some of these:

Ditto, like both!

If it is for a teenager, the dark, if it is for a younger child or pre-teen the light.

With those fabrics in the 2nd post, then the white.

But of the first 4, I like the 2 blacks and the white elephants.
Not crazy about the white rectangles.

But then the whole white modern thing isn't normally to my taste, although there are exceptions.

I really like the black with brights.

I like the dark better, makes those elephants pop! And thast goes againest the pastels I normally like the babies.

The colors pop more on the dark but the light would probably be more suited for a baby quilt.

White background.

I usually go for the most contrast, but I like the lights.

Depends on the look you are trying to create. It could be very nice either way.

For a consistent overall look, the white background would be the best.

But I think I'd be tempted to mix and match the light and the dark for a more varied look.

I like both but would do light for baby and dark for adult that liked elephants.

I like the light for a girl and the dark for a boy. They are both really cute.
