When I posted the design, I wrote that I realized that the blocks didn't have to be offset. Here's a drawing of it without the blocks being offset. It's still HSTriangles and corner triangles, although the bottom of the bolt is divided in half, plus a corner triangle.

well done!! thanks for including the pattern! i'd like to make some quilts for older boys too. i was blessed to have 2 boys and they were lucky enough to stay healthy and out of hospitals and other disasters, but if things had been different, i know they would have appreciated quilts. guys are people, too. we focus on the pretty and the pink, and forget that there are a whole lot of very fragile deserving boys with hard lives, too, that could use re-assuring and comfort. so great job! and thanks for not ignoring the boys!

Thanks. It's actually a Christmas pattern I bought on sale after the holidays. I guess it's supposed to look like snow. I think it also kinda looks like lots of meteors.

Great idea! I make quilts for a local organization - both on my own and through a guild - and just as you said, the demand for boys quilts is great. Perhaps because so many of the fabrics we choose are 'girly'? I'm starting to specialize in 'boys' quilts, partly because of the demand and partly because I have 4 grandsons and only one granddaughter.

When I use a little boy pattern/fabric, I try to make the back attractive for an older boy so that he and the quilt can grow up together. The pattern you created is quick and easy enough to use as either a top or the 'growing up' back! I also like that it uses only 3 fabrics...makes it much easier for my color challenged vision. Thanks!

Perfect for a boy of any age! Thanks for your efforts for such a great cause - if everyone here just made one - can you imagine the impact??

What a great quilt for any youngsters....especially the males.
I know my grandsons would love this.
