This is a lovely quilt. The fabric choices for the simple pattern make it really lively. And those open blocks were so inviting for quilting. Nice job to you both!

Just stunning! What I would give to make one as beautiful as yours. Lilacs are our favorite. We had many when we lived in Mi. Also went to Mackinaw Island for the Lilac festival. Also had some in our yard. When we moved to SC we planted 2 bushes from babies when we got our new home 3 yrs. ago but they are still babies. Just cant wait they are able to bloom.[right under our bedroom window] Our daughter in NC [60 miles from us] had her big bush bloom 3 weeks ago. The brat!Where did you get that wonderful fabric?
|
Beautiful! I love it. The colors and quilting just make you feel like you're in a bed of lilacs.
|
This is beautiful.

Beautiful quilt! I, too, grew up in Spokane til I was 12 and just loved the lilacs in spring. We used to go every year to the parade also. This was in the 50s and Spokane was a great city in which to grow up. I have a few lilacs in my garden on the other side of the mountains but they don't do as well as in Spokane.
|
Beautiful!
I, too, grew up in the lilac city of Spokane. Lilacs are the greatest thing about spring. I loved the Lilac Parade through the downtown streets. Thanks for the memories! What chaulk pencil are you using? :-D |

Another gorgeous quilt! I love lilacs too. We had a whole hedgerow of them when I was a child. Unfortunately they are very difficult to grow down here in the south but I'm determined to keep trying :)

I can tell you the sweet smell of lilacs in bloom is so pretty. My grandmother had lilac bushes planted around her patio and it was my favorite place to sit while in bloom..just read a book in a patio chair..what lovely memories. When I received this quilt I immediately thought of that and it gave me sweet memories. This is a lovely quilt. I quilted charisma curls in all the purple areas and quilted a wreath in the white centers...it just seems so sweet and pretty. I used Hobbs polydown batting. I quilted this freehand on my INNOVA. I did use a chalk pencil to make a circle in the center of each block for a point of reference. It washed out without any problems. Thanks for looking. |
