When I was in HS and college in the late 80s, we took tshirts and added skirts. We used coordinating ribbon around the seam line. Of course we were all rail thin back then! But I wore those til they were threadbare!

I have been doing these for at least 25 years. I usually add an appliqued flower of the skirt fabric to the top so it looks coordinated. Your pocket works, too.

I then made shorts from the ruffle fabric. You can also buy inexpensive shorts and sew ruffles around the leg hemline. Don't forget the hair assessories. You can glue a bow made from the fabric or ribbon to an inexpensive hair band. Buy inexpensive flip flops and glue the bows on. You will have a designer outfit for pennies.
