The little quilt that almost made me quit
1 Attachment(s)
About a year ago, someone on here posted the seed that shrunk in my mind. Her large quilt was in black and white and I was intrigued. I know that I responded to it by saying I wanted to try it in red and white instead. Gung ho - ready to go! There wasn't a pattern - but that rarely stops me. Besides I wanted to make a mini. And so I began. A year ago. The first time I put the rows together it came out tumbler shaped - fully two inches wider on the bottom than the top. I let it rest. I stewed, I contemplated. I took it apart months later and tried again. Close but no cigar. I couldn't work on anything! I was so frustrated.
Eventually, I missed quilting so much that I had to develop my mantra - if at first you don't succeed - try, try again. And I was determined to finish it. I did! I did! 20" (nearly) square. |
I'm glad you stuck with it. It is beautiful.

Wow. It looks so dimensional. That's a really cool effect! Nicely done.

It turned out really, really awesome. Some times they don't play nice and you have to discover their secrets. You have a winner here. The fabrics are fantastic and the effect, perfect. You rock!

The quilt is very beautiful and I love it. I wish there was a pattern for it because unlike you, I would not be able to do it.
|
It's easy to see why you'd want to do that pattern. But WOW! You really had a lot of challenges...and overcame them to a beautiful finish. Congratulations!
