Log Cabin Quilt
1 Attachment(s)
This is a quilt top I've just completed for the son of a very good friend of mine -- he served in the US Army in Afghanistan and sustained permanent injuries there. I thought this was the least I could do. I'll eventually get the quilt finished, but here's the top. It's not perfect, but I'm proud of it! Jeanette

really like that--love the colors and the fabric choices.
Very nice! I love your colors and I'm sure your friend's son will love it.
Gorgeous quilt! Blues and oranges look great together.
Good for you!! I would not have thought I'd like that particular color combo as much as I do.
looks great
Great job and I also like the colors!
Actually, the colors are blues and browns -- the one that appears orange is a "rust" in the brown family! I guess my camera doesn't depict the colors accurately. There are three blues, light, royal blue and navy, and three browns, tan, chocolate and rust. The center block is ORANGE - a KeepSake Calico. Red just wouldn't work, but I think the orange in the calico is just right!

Your thoughtful gift will bring him comfort, it's a beautiful quilt!

How wonderful of you to make such an inspiring quilt.

Please thank him for his service. Super quilt. BrendaK

Orange works great with the desert colors... and our minds see red white and blue as well...funny how that works...

Thank you all for your compliments. They are appreciated. This is my very first pieced quilt top. I've made other quilts, but not pieced tops. Jeanette

Great looking log cabin.
Great color..Good job.
Log cabin is one of my favorite patterns and you have done an excellent job on this one. The colors remind me of the patriotism these soldiers show for our country by protecting it, and the browns remind me of the dessert they are in. He will love and cherish this I'm sure.
It's gorgeous! I'm sure he will love it, I appreciate his service. Such a touching way to bless him on your part!
Thank all of you for your comments. I appreciate your extending thanks to this young man -- his mom is a very good friend of mine. Her son is one of those who served his country and put his life on the line for our country, and he has my thanks as well. Sewing is something I love to do. I am grateful for the opportunity to do a little something for one of our soldiers, and especially for the son of a very good friend!

A beautiful quilt for a very deserving man. May your quilt give him much comfort. And be sure to tell him that there are hundreds of quilters on this board thinking and praying for him.
