Simply gorgeous!
Sometimes if we have probs where they all meet we put something there to cover it up. |
I'm done with it as it is not working out at all so what I've got I'll make a pillow or some thing. I just ordered the book on the twisted log cabin, the square one. I made these and placed them in the order that I have them in. I did not make a map at all, just played wiht the triangles and that is what I got. I know there is a book out some where and I'm thinking it's the soft expression site that sells those books on the circular quilts or quilts with out corners. I may one day order that book. I gave up on templates and such and I can't get paper peicing down pat so that is out. Have agreat day, Huggies, Fay

I do want to let you know that I think you did a fantastic job on this one. As I mentioned, I've done the paper piece version and I would never attempt to do what you did! Great job. You can still use it in a wallhanging! |
Fay - that is stunning. I'll be watching to see where you go with it...
|
It is unique and lovely.

Ya know I was thinking too that I could make it a front of a tote. Wouldn't that open some eyes??? I just might give it a shot. I can see if I can come up with some thing like it any way and that would be interesting as it is large enough to be a tote. We'll see tomorrow, but I decided to wait til my books get here and see what they are and then give it another try. Too bad this didn't go very dern far. Have a great night, Huggies, Fay

That is so very cool.

That is fabulous

Oh, I love it. The colors and the pattern are both fantastic. Can't wait to see the whole quilt in a picture.

Like the idea of a tote. Very, very nice.

Well one of my twisted log cabin books came today, except it isn't a book. It is a set of templates There are 3 styles of borders and the twisted log cabin template. They are the plastic templates like the one you use for quilting and I figured out a way to use them with out paper piecing and I have it down pat. I have 9 blocks going and they are looking so nice. I'll post a picture when I get the quilt done. Have a great evening, Huggies, Fay

Oh, I love it. the 3D effect is wonderful
|
Well my book the Log Cabin With a Twist came today and it has these triangles in it so now when I get the one done that I'm working on, I can pick this up and try it again. It has the full size triangle in it and I can get some of that plastic template material and try to make another template with that and see how it will go. Except I won't cut away the parts. Any way, this book has a lot of great ideas for design lay outs and such. I love it. I have about 3 more rounds to get done on the squares ones that I'm working on now so I best get back to it. I'm glad I did not do any thing with the triangles that I already made. Huggies, Fay

WOW oh wow, wonderful!
|
I can't imagine making this and not have it be paper pieced! I really like this look also and this is in the line-up of patterns to make.
|
WOW!!! It's like working with Fibonacci numbers!!! We drew lots of designs using the calculations and I never once thought of the idea of making a quilt!!! You have to show it to some math gurus. BUT....don't let them measure anything. They are to enjoy it with their eyes. It's beautiful!
