I can hardly wait to see it when it is done.

It looks great! My DD requested it, but I was too chicken. She liked the one she got, but maybe I will surprise her one of these days. You are making it look easy!

The quilt is working up beautifully. Can't wait to see it complete!

This is really an easy quilt to make, and I hate it that more people don't make a lone star. Maybe you will inspire others to make one.
I found some good instruction on the internet last year to refresh my memory on the process.

Yes Barb, it is easy really. The only thing I would advice is to cut the strips on the straight of grain instead of crossgrain like the book says. the strip bow a little when you sew them together and I dont' like it one bit...but I have no choice now and it will be fine once I really block it well and quilt it.

I will make eight diamons like the one posted. If anybody has any question, feel free to ask.

Just for reference. Here is a long star I did the same way, only I cut the strips on the lenght of grain. It is scrap, except for the borders.

I used the decorator fabrics for the lone star and regular quilters cotten for the rest.

These were all large scale prints on those sample cards but once cut, they are just color.
