a very special part of your family history

I've just been to the Rio Grande Valley quilt show and saw quilts displayed by clamping them at the top with pants hangers which are then hung over a rod. Not sure if I'd leave the pants hangers on for too long though as they may leave dents where they are clamped on.

What a treasure for you!

It is lovely, I love the way she embroidered on the back, lots of work in this quilt.. I am reading a great novel named Wedding Ring by Emille Richards. It is a story of a old double wedding ring quilt top. It is about a Grandmother that is a horder and her daughter and grandaughter and the 3 have never been very loving towards each other and now the dwr quilt has brought them all back together to spend the summer cleaning out the Grandma's house, much to her objections. But the story of how this quilt came to be lets each of them see a little of what makes up each ones lives and brings them closer together,, a great read for quilters or just anyone!

Because you want to display it, don't wash it. Just put it outside to air. (I lay mine out on 4X8 wall insilation-and cover with a sheet to keep the sun off). Sew a sleeve on the back to hang it with and enjoy the labors of your grandmother. I love, love the back!!

Great find. Treasures like this help me realize that you don't always have to be a color coordinating genius to make a work of art. Thanks for sharing!
