What a great and wonderful find, you are so lucky :D:D:D |
These are so precious. I would love to have the pattern. My daughter loves butterflies. I would piece it using the black stripes between all blocks and turn two in from the left and two in from the right.

How wonderful is that, that you have something from your mama to keep.

What a treasure this is! I wonder who your Mom was making this quilt for...
My mom gave me a quilt top my grandmother made in the late 30's - early 40's. I added batting and a back. I'm certainly no pro at quilting; when I quilted it I hadn't sewn in years! But I tell everyone it looks better now than it did hidden in a drawer! My grandkids, grand-neices and grand-nephews use it when they spend a weekend (or more) with me. They act suitably impressed... Enjoy this message of love from your Mom! |
Those are all just beautiful. I would use a floral border and make a wonderful memory quilt. What a wonderful find.

what a special treasure you have found.

They are beautiful. I think they would look awesome with a black sashing. Really make them pop.
|
The squares are lovely. I always love butterflies! I don't think that I can give any further sashing advice, except that I agree that you should probably take them to the quilt shop and look at all your options with them in hand.
I'm so sorry for your Medicad troubles! There is something very wrong with that system...and I hope that I won't have to go through that with my parents in years to come |
On second thought, I looked at the picture again, and I would suggest a dark small floral for a narrow sashing - might really make them pop

black sashing and a different color square at each corner would look nice. Then take it to you LQS and try sometimg different for the border. You will know what fabric will work by laying the finished top next to the bolt.
