**choke, choke, cough, cough**  That lady is doing a queen sized quilt with those itty-bitty little miniscule, microscopic pieces?????? I can't even imagine doing something like that beautiful piece you've put together! Yours looks amazing, K. I have loads of patience, but I don't think I have enough to work with that size.

Out of curiosity, how big are your hexagons? Beautiful work by the way. |
That is TINY!! Do you go cross eyed by the end of the evening?
|
K how big is your piece now?
The templates are the size of a nickle. So when finished they are 1/2". At least that is what the package says. I also can't imagine doing a QUEEN size with these hexes! How many 1/2"s would it take to go across and then from top to bottom?? Ohhhh myyyy!! I would never have the patience and it would take even me a lifetime to do!! |
I think I may use the hexes in a Doll Quilt down the road. Ideas are percolatin'!!
|
My piece contains roughly 150 of the little b&@gers and is about 16" square! I have no idea how many it would take to make a queen size - I guess it just requires a sum, hang on.. I think about 7000!!!

Wow not for me thank you very much!! I will stick to my minis!! LOL

K I just love the way your IRR is coming along! I collect chickens and I love your center. That wire border was just inspired! I don't remember who added it but I loved the look!

Seriously, I did it because the rooster was a strange size, involving 1/8" and so I thought I'd even him up so as not to give Patti brain ache - she did the first border! :-D |
