Thanks to all of you! I can see what you mean about some logs looking narrower because of a strip or some such. I think that was my main concern is would I have to cut some narrower etc and if so, how would I keep the same block size. And cjsews, I hadn't noticed about half being started with light strips and the other dark. I do remember that the center blocks were embroidered and I haven't decided if I'm going to fussy cut the center blocks or embroider them, don't necessarily need them all to be the same and have a fabric that would yield a lot of different fussy cut centers. Blues are my choices for this quilt with some whites and subtle light peach colors and violets mixed in. Have to make a few text blocks to see what combinations. Am trying to use as much of my stash as I can.
You ladies are so much help. I always read this board but seldom participate. Just learned how to put a picture on.

The quilt is beautiful and the great thing about it is that you can make the logs whatever size you choose to. As far as the center it's embroidery but I think that she used 2 different flowers I believe one block has 2 leaves the other has 3. Good luck with your project, I just started a courthouse steps quilt yesterday.

That's easy, its called Courthouse Steps. See my avatar, it is a photo of a Court House Steps quilt. Love the picture you took. The center of the block can be any size same as for the logs, they look really small, like 1" or less. Pretty quilt.

I love this quilt. I thought it was courthouse steps. I have some embroidered blocks I might try to do with this pattern. Thanks.

I saw this quilt on Pinterest and have also saved it for "one day" - "I'll make this quilt". I believe it was machine embroidered, as there does not appear to have any other designs within the square, just background. Note that one flower points in one direction and the second in another direction. Designs are easily flipped on an embroidery machine.

Please keep us posted on your progress in making this beauty. Let us peek!

That is a gorgeous quilt, pattern and fabric choices are perfect. Looks like court house steps to me also.

I am just amazed at the details I missed in this quilt that you ladies saw. That just shows again how helpful it is when several pairs of eyes look at something. I hadn't noticed either how the center is not a true square. What a lot of choices I have now. I'll start sewing up some blocks in the next few days and will post pictures.
