Looking for pattern for this quilt
1 Attachment(s)
I've been carrying around this picture for a long long time hoping to find a pattern for it. Don't know the name of it, but I took the picture at a quilt and craft show several years ago and wrote down the lady's name who made it etc but somehow it all went missing. I could do it without pattern but it looks to me as if some of the "logs" are different widths and I like that look. Any help would be appreciated.

That is beautiful. Sorry don't know the name. Is the center block fussy cut, embroidered, or appliqued?

The piecing pattern is called courthouse steps, a version of log cabin. I think the logs are all the same size, but the quilting line in something of them makes it look like they could be different sizes. The center looks like embroidery to me - are you looking for that pattern too?

It looks like courthouse steps with a fussy cut center.

Try Log Cain in the Woods by Sharlene Jorgensen but it immediately strikes me as Courthouse Steps with Square in centre!

My opinion? Yes, it is courthouse steps, but I think that the strips are all the same size. Some fabrics have a stripe or strip of something that makes the pieces appear to be different sizes. And I am thinking the center pieces is not a perfect square. My guess is the pieces were cut at 1-1/2" to finish at 1"

I agree with courthouse steps. Looks like half were started with light strips. The other half statrted with the dark strips. I love the colors in that quilt.

It's deffinitely gorgeous - I too believe it is courthouse steps... Thanks for sharing - I love it! The colors are so "rich".
