"Love the Dove"
1 Attachment(s)
Our President's Challenge this year was to make a quilt with an animal on it. I found the dove applique pattern on Nancy Zieman's blog. It was shared with her by Stephanie Kepecs and Joanne Perlmutter of devoutquilter.com
http://www.nancyzieman.com/blog/quil...love-the-dove/ The scrappy border is made using 2.5" squares from a swap here on Quilting Board. They are 1" x 2" flying geese sewn end to end. I lost count of how many different fabrics that I used. There were alot! I like the scrappyness of it. |
Beautiful! Really like everything about this, the scrappiness, the quilting, the FG border (wow 1 x 2 are tiny!) and the design. I also love how you put it on a dark background so all those beautiful colors and fabrics practically glow.
It's gorgeous! I love the theme, the colors on the black, and just everything about it. Nice work!
Very nice!
beautifully done
Beautiful job. The colors just pop with that dark background.
Lovely! Really like your fabric choices for the dove.
Oh, I love everything about that dove. It's also a nice reminder of how colors just love to be surrounded by black.
I just went to the link and in my humble opinion, I prefer yours. |
I "love the dove" too! I am in agreement with the others...everything about your quilt is perfection :-)
love it, it reminds me of stained glass, very pretty job.
wow....that is a beauty. and I love the boarder....how clever.
What a beautiful piece! I love your colour choices and how they pop against the black background. And I especially love the sentiment (peace) considering what seems to be so prevalent in our daily news. A job well done in my opinion.
Beautiful quilt! Easy to love this dove. Your color selection is wonderful.
That is sooooo beautiful!!! Fabulous work!
Exceptionally beautiful.
Love it. The scrappiness just adds a wonderful dimension to it.
Ditto to what has been said. Super. Love your border. Wonderful dove. BrendaK

That is simply beautiful!!! At age 75, my dh is building a 14' fiberglass steeple for our church. It will have 2 stained glass pieces in it that measures 18" x 24". The interior of the steeple will be lighted. The reason I am telling you this is after seeing your Dove, I am inspired to try to do a quilt piece using the Dove my dh did in stained glass as my pattern. Do you think this is doable?
