Love/Hate this quilt!!!!!!
4 Attachment(s)
My love/hate relationship with this quilt is that I loved making it, but I did not like the fabric choices in the end. I was very hard to picture the design by block.... it was a lot of guess work. It is a Margret Miller Angle Play pattern of "DESERT STARS"
Also this is my year of "SCRAP QUILTS" I am using up all my scraps.... the 2nd photo is a string quilt "Kolidescope". Working hard and learning as I go. I have only be doing the FMQ'ing for one year. All my work is done on a Janome MC9700. I can only Dream of getting a long arm one day. LOL ENJOY! Ninette Pascagoula, MS |
Love the scrappy colors and design. Great job on both!
Both are very pretty.
It seems to me you are a fast learner. I see nothing wrong with your quilts. You did a great job quilting them. I still have not mastered quilting my own quilts. I send my bigger ones to LAQ. Keep up your good work!
They're both fabulous! Viva la scraps!
wonderful great job!!!!!
Beautiful :)
I think they are both lovely!
I have been at it for several years and then a few. If I could FMQ as good as you are doing, I would be in hog heaven. Great quilts and quilting.
I like them too! Sometimes we are too hard on ourselves. I made a quilt once that after it was finished, I did not like the colors. But now that I have lived with it a while, it is growing on me. Give it time.
Truly, there is just something that draws me to the 1st quilt. I really like it. The second one is along my usual colorway. Love a great scrappy!
love your quilts and your quilting
Beautiful!!!
Great quilts, love the string quilt.
WOW! They are gorgeous! Nice job! :)
Great quilts and I especially love the 2nd one! Welcome from another Mississippian!
Both are beautiful!
Beautiful quilts, you did a wonderful job on both!
I think they are both beautiful....and your quilting is fantastic. I wish I were as talented.
Friend, you do NOT need a long arm. You did a beautiful job!
Both are beautiful! Wow, your FMQ is fantastic -- you should be very proud. Both are color combos that I would not have thought of -- good job.
love the scrappy, great job
Very pretty quilts. I love the bright colors. I am in the market for a new machine and think I will stick with a Janome. The one I now have is a no frills machine, but is such a good one. Had it for over 10 years and have not had a single problem with it. I just want one with a larger throat so I can squeeze in those quilts a little easier. Do you love yours!

I find that I am often tired of the fabrics in a quilt by the time I finish the quilt. That feeling will go away, you will eventually look at the quilt with fresh eyes and realize how beautiful it is. I am really taken by the string quilt. Those black sashings with the blue cornerstones give such a 3-d look to it. I think it's one of the prettiest string quilts I've seen.
Yes I love my Janome.... it is a workhorse.....
And thank you for all of the encourageing words for each.... This is a great board! Ninette Pascagoula, MS |
Love the colors in both of your quilts. The bright yellows really stand out in the first quilt. So glad you finished it and shared them both.

I love the string quilt the colors are prefect.

Both are wonderful--congratulations on your quilting.
I think they are both wonderful! Thanks for showing the backs too. :) Love to see the quilting designs from that angle.
Good job on both quilts. I really love your scrappy, especially your use of the black sashing and blue setting squares and border then the black print border. What a great way to tie it all together! wonderful quilt and great quilting also.
both are nice but I love the star
both are great but I really like string quilts.
Gorgeous quilt! Wish I had the skills to 'attempt' something like this.
Beautiful - great job on both!
Both of your quilts are stunning! I can see how the desert stars could give you grief, it doesn't appear to be an easy pattern, but it turned out beautifully. I love string quilts, there is something almost meditative about piecing the blocks. I am working on one now, I have the blocks all put together, now I have to add borders (one of my least favorite parts of quilting, don't know why) Your quilting looks wonderful too!
Double WOW! WOW! I love them both! You make gorgeous quilts! I love your fabric choices! I think you have an eye for color! And lovely quilting too!
Love them and the color combinations. Very cheerful.
Very nice!
i love your choice of fabrics on both quilts
I love both quilts, and the first one is beautiful, colors and design. Your quilting if fabulous, wouldn't guess that you have only been doing machine quilting for a year, WOW!!! Thanks for sharing!!!
