How clever! The quilt is. Beautiful and your quilting is outstanding. You are a beginner? It will be fun to watch you and see where you go from here! Welcome to the board from Illinois and please show us more.😃👍😻

Beautiful quilt and love the quilting.

Aw, that is so personal and heartwarming. I Love it! And, I'm sure your mom did also.

You have made a gorgeous quilt. I have a Grandson with a "Sound" degree. I've got to tell him about your quilt and what you have done. He went to a museum and set up a sound that the person looking at one painting, could hear, but no one else could hear if they were standing right next to him. You know about that, don't you?

I like your quilt. I am also curious how you made the “sound wave” so you could use it as a pattern.

That is so creative. You combined high tech with the tradition of a custom quilt. Well done, sir!:D

Outstanding. What a great idea, so creative. I have made quilt as a QR code but this is even better.

What a great idea, and it made a wonderful quilt! Where/how would one get such a sound wave?

betthequilter 05-26-2019 06:27 AM

How creative of you!

What a unique idea for a quilt! Sound waves so modern looking on that quilt. Your mom will be thrilled! Welcome to the board from southern Idaho!

I used an app on my iPad. I stretched out the wave form and translated it onto the graph paper.. see the attached photos

What a wonderful quilt for your mom. The only thing I hope you do is make a new label with more info so that future family members know who made it, for whom, when, etc. I own an old appliqué quilt (not my family) and all that is known about it is the date - 1868 - that is quilted into it. How I would love to know who made it, where it’s from, etc.

Great idea... I might need to create a label that can be ironed onto the back.. there was a little note I put in the box I sent the quilt to her in...

I might take take all this and add more details you mentioned above

thanks!

Incredibly beautiful! Can't imagine the hours spent in your quilting.

That's such an awesome idea, and you made the quilt beautiful with your choice of colours and the quilting. Very cool!
