Lynnie's hexes
2 Attachment(s)
Lynnie has been working her fingers to the bones doing little hexes. We sew together every Tuesday and I watch her progress. Wonderful workmanship. I know I wouldn't have the patience for this project. Bravo Lynn!

wow look at all the colour
Thanks for posting a picture for me. alot of people asked to see what it looks
like and i don't have a camera to do it with. i'm running out of my scraps and now am being a beggar to collect from friends. thanks for looking |
Lynnie pictures really do show what you were trying to describe to me. Now I really see. That is the most gorgeous quilt I have seen. It's really a beautiful way to use scrappies, but using another form than the traditional squares etc. This design is a winner, and I can also see why collecting scraps is great for this. OMG it's gorgeous. You really did it girl!

WOW! That is going to be one beautiful hexe quilt. One you can really be proud of.
I have to ask what size they are!? it's really unique, those little threesomes! love it!!!
That is beautiful! I love how colourful it is. I am working on a hexie quilt myself so I know how much work it is, but it's fun and addicting too. You are doing a wonderful job!
Beautiful work lynnie, so glad you have a friend to post pictures for you. I would be happy to send you some scraps, just send me a pm to let me know what you would (or would not) like to receive.
i like that layout
Wow!! That is amazing! I love the pattern. Wish I had your patience! How big will the finished product be?
the hexes are 3/4". I bought the punch at Micheals on a 50% coupon.
It cost me about $7. I use old manilla folders for my paper pieces. I'm looking for other recyclables so i'll start using those annoying papers in the magazines that everyone hates. Im using 2" x 6" scraps or 5" sqs. I'm trying to keep it a charm type of quilt, no duplicates except one. I'm using all types of 100% cottons, except flannel. I've been working on it for about a month now. I'm figuring i'll need about 1,000 more hrs. to finish it to be a queen. |
What a fun design! So glad your friend shared the pic, lynnie!
You are HAND sewing that? Holy wow, that's discipline! It's crazy pretty lynnie!
LOVE your hexis, Lynnie! Such a fun variation of EPP and great scraps. Just so cheerful!
Wow!
Very awesome! I love the varriety and workmanship. I know I would never get more tan 9 r 10 of those sewn and I would be crying uncle. Great job Lynnie now I understand wht your doing. |
Each hex is basted with paper. then sewn to the next one with at least 18 stitches per 3/4" side.
alot of thread! |
Wow, that's a lot of hexies.
My! That is wonderful! Good job, Lynnie.
Very pretty and sooo much work! Very impressive!
Oh I just love this! I started working on one for my daughter. We are using scraps from her grandmother's fabric stash. We have large enough pieces to get four hexis per print. My daughter wanted it totally random, so that's what she's getting. Very difficult for me, I hoped she'd let me put them together like you've done lol. I'm showing her yours and I know she'll love it but I have nearly 1/4 of them sewn so it's to late for her to tell me she wants a pattern lol.
Wow that boggles my little mind. So many pieces and many stitches. Impressive.
Wow, Lynnie, you sure are working your fingers to the bone. Now I get to see what you are talking about. That sure is a lot of work! Beautiful!
Awesome piecing! Love it!
Certain a really nice modern twist on using hexs. Thanks for posting.
Wow Lynnie!! You did a great job with the hexies. Love this pattern.
Love it Lynnie! I reminds me of looking for 4 leaf clovers! Great piecing.
The real reason I went with this design , I noticed i had A LOT of little scraps, not enough to do another gfg. so i settled on this and it only takes a bit of scraps to do it. I have some quilty friends fro here sharing scraps with me, and i love the idea of it.
Oh, my!! And people think I'm nuts!! You do have patience.
Fantastic! Love all the colors and the setting. If you want, I'll send scraps. PM me.
that would be great i'll pm you. i love having fabric from people on the board.
Wow, that's such an explosion of color! Fantastic
You have a great quilt started. I've never seen a pattern with 3 of the same.
it's now 32" x 36" My fingers are killing me but i just can't stop.
I want to finish it now, yeah right. but little by little, it's getting there. |

So I'm thinking if there's another table runner swap maybe you should get my name (magically) and make me a hexie table runner...in red, white, black (dining room is Coca Cola theme, tho you know me, I always say surprise me!). I even have fabrics I will send you! Seriously, I've been reorganizing and cleaning my fabric room; I saw where you said you're running low on hexie scraps.. if you'll pm me your addy and sizes/color preferences I will send you a pkg. I think I had your address from an ornament swap, but with all of my reorganization I need to find my notebook with all of my addresses in it. Regards, K |
