M*QC Disappearing Hourglass
1 Attachment(s)
These are the blocks I did from Jenny's original 10 inch starting size. My lap top measures 34 X 46 1/2 inches and I will probably add a 6 inch dark blue border(need to purchase). I know a lot of people were lamenting the bias edges but they really helped me line up the little hourglass corner triangles.
Opps. Title should have read Disappearing HOURGLASS but it won't let me edit. |
Pretty blocks! :)

That's a beauty! Thanks for letting us know the bias edges actually helped.
|
Really nice job, Tartan, I especially like the different shades of blue in your fabric choices. Happy to know that it gets easier to work with the bias edges when joining units together. :)

I watched this tutorial just the other day. You did a great job on your quilt! I'm always amazed by how a block can be changed by just cutting it after sewing it together.
|
That is very pretty.

Very pretty quilt, I want to make one of these too.
|
Tartan that's beautiful. I'm working on a red, white and blue one, but after making making a test block from the msqc tut I saw you tut and started with 10 1/2" squares as you suggested. I like that much better. Thanks for all your hard work. Jan
|
Yours came out wonderfully !! I'm debating on starting one...looks more experienced related rather than for a beginner
|
Tartan, your quilt is absolutely beautiful. I enjoyed your tutorial. I frequently cut and paste the tutorials into Word of Adobe, print a copy and make a practice block and put it in a notebook. I liked the block but your quilt with multiple blocks is very eye catching. I will be anxious to see what your final decision for a border is. Thanks for all of your posts to help us learn and understand ideas we see on the board or other places.

When starting with 10 inch squares - what size do the blocks finish at?
