I think you have picked beautiful fabrics and colors. I know the normal advice is to start small, my first quilt was a full-size quilt for my daughter, which I handquilted (might I add the only handquilted bed quilt). The second was an over-sized king quilt for our bed (after all one good turn deserves all the covers). I used a basket block done as a crib quilt in a magazine and figured - oh I just have to make more blocks!! lol. I did make more blocks, and more blocks - and "Basket Case" was born. I even machine quilted it - also my first time. Go where your heart takes you and you'll do fine. You go girl.

Those are excellent fabric choices. They look good and work well together. Don't worry about what someone else might have chozen. Do let us know if we can help along the way, that includes looking at your progress and encouraging you if you get bogged down.

Pretty fabric. Look forward to seeing it finished.
Good luck. |
Love the colours you chose and can't wait to see the finished project. My first quilt was a queen size Trip Around the World and I kept making them big. So size never intimidated me. So many choices so little time! Happy quilting!
