I was given one of these a couple of years ago. I got tired of carrying it from the sewing machine, to the cutting area, to the hand sewing spot, etc. So I made a few more. The top of the hat is a piece of toilet paper tube stuffed with polyfil and the brim is just a circle cut from cardboard. Each part is covered by a circle done like a yo-yo. The pieces are glued together with a hot glue gun. Not difficult to make, but, as with all projects, takes longer than you imagine :-)

These are so cute!
I'm going to try to make one... because, believe it or not, I don't own a pin cushion. <yes, I'm still a newbie> |
Thanks, all, for your kind words. I've always wanted one of those tomato cushions, but never got one. I'd like to see a picture of the shoe one.

Cute hats! :)

Too Cute! For years I've been using a magnetic one, the size and shape of a soap dish. When I'm cleaning up, I do a quick swipe with it and it picks up pins I may have missed! But...if I had my own sewing room I would make yours just to have for decorations! Great Job!

So cute!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Too cute

They are soooooooooooooooo cute. Yes you should have one in each spot. It will save you time and frustration. Plus they are so cute. How fun to have a different one in each spot.
|
Cute idea.

These are really cute. They would be great on a quilt show sales table. Also great near some of the sewing machines where you're not supposed to put magnets near.
Also great that they won't roll around. |
Your pin cushions are very cute! I use a three-tierred one that my friend made for me.

Cute!!
and you gave me a trip down memory lane ... we used to make ones like that when we were kids. We just put cotton batting in for the stuffing and a drop of perfume to make them pretty-smelly! Did you see the ones that were posted that were made in tea cups? I think sugar bowls, cream pitchers or any other little nic-nac type bowls would be perfect! |
Very cute. Love the bows.

cute hats. easy enough for the grandkids to make.
