the applique was done with Sharon Schambers (sorry if I spelled that last name wrong) method of applique.
We had entered it in the IMQA show in Overland Park KS in May and it received honorable mention in class (that was for the quilting) piecers award (that is for the design of the top) and much to our surprise, Viewers Choice.

Oh, I just saw this thread - you did a fantastic job! This quilt was at the Lincoln Quilters Guild meeting last month - it is absoluetly breath taking. Whoever wins this in the raffle will have one precious prize. Your pic doesn't do it justice enough - the applique and quilting are absolutely amazing. It is so detailed, it really makes you just want to touch it and feel all the gorgeousness.
