This is my latest quilt for a grandchild's bed. I had to get this done for the guild quilt show in March. The colors were her choice and the pattern is from BH&G American Patchwork and Quilting magazine. The only problem I have with quilt patterns these days is the sizes are so not realistic. What do you do with a quilt that is not twin, not queen. How many can you have on the couch? Kinda makes me mad when I really dont like doing the math. Guess that's why I'm an art quilter at heart. I did use the spray baste on this quilt before I machine quilted on my home machine. What a great product. I alway hated all the pins or stitching by hand before, now I will use the spray baste all the time.

Very, very pretty quilt.

I know what you mean about the sizes..I guess with energy costs they way they are going, with all the odd sizes of quilts , we will have to do like they did in old with the Tapestry, hang them on every wall. (grin)

I know what you mean about the sizes of the quilts. Just make them big enough for a BED, please! LOL

rndelling 03-05-2010 10:49 AM

Wow! I absolutely love it.

sylvia77 03-05-2010 12:46 PM

I just finished a quilt that was inbetween a queen & full, so I had to add to it and now it's big enough for a king. The quilt is beautiful. I'd better not let my granddaughter see this else I'll be making one of these.

Do you know the name of the fabric you used in the outside border? I found a pattern in one of my new quilting mags and this is a lot like the fabrics they used. They don't say in the magazine what the fabric line is and this would go perfectly. Also, the quilt is beautiful and your gd will love it!

Oklahoma Suzie 03-05-2010 05:34 PM

littlehud 03-05-2010 07:38 PM

I got the border fabric at Walmart, I know, not known for good quilting fabric but this was quality fabric with some of the line on the shelf also. It is a VIP from Cranston Print Works at Cranston Village.com

Absolutley stunning!!!!! You did a beautiful job.

What kind of spray baste product do you use? I'm having major back problems & can't do thread basting on two large quilt tops. I had a really bad experience with spray basting once...The aerosol caused my mini blinds & everything else in the room to be sticky. I've been afraid to try it again.
