I think you need some darker border and lose the dots.

Latrinka 07-06-2012 04:42 AM

I think I would add another color border, and then quilt with colored thread as someone else mentioned. Very pretty though!

Without circles....and add a border.

Also I agree that you should use colored thread when quilting the white blocks

What she said.

I like the border idea of Arlene's...

What about a vine with flowers around the edge? You could use the colors in the log cabin and machine applique them. The circles just do not improve the design.

sawsan, another idea? Use that white border by stitching on a waving stem border or waving ric-rac. Cut the circles smaller and use some of them as flowers, add a few leaves. The circles could also be cut into wedges to make cockscomb-like flowers.

I like this idea, or the smaller border design sent in. Are they yoyos? They just don't balance well in your pic of them around the blocks. IMHO. Lynn

Better without, I agree. Nice clean colorful lines without, I think.

As a rule I love white and can't get enough. However, I would make the white border smaller and put another border to frame it. I would not do the yoyo's.

I agree with Arleners. Her prototype is much more pleasing to the eye. IMHO.
