making a quilt for me
1 Attachment(s)
I have not had a quilt since we sold our house and all its contents, but now that I am settled, I wanted to make a quilt for me. The small-piece Log Cabin is one we have made dozens of times, the pieces start out 1" wide. All colors are used. I had a bunch of 4 x 4 small tops already put together, so I sewed 16 of them together. Here it is laid out on the floor, have to sew the seams the other way, maybe on my next day off.
Hope I will get it quilted before the cold weather comes! First I have to finish an afghan I am making, then finish quilting a WIP I picked up at a yard sale. |
It's pretty - I like the setting you are using.

Looks great and love the layout!

Good for you for making a quilt for yourself! It's gorgeous and I'm sure you'll have lots of snuggly night under it.
Wow! That is a lot of work. You did a great job.

very pretty--love the tiny logs on the log cabins! And definitely my colors :)
WOW...what a project!
It will be stunning.
I can't wait to see it finished! It's lovely already.
Even though you used "all colors", it gives a wonderfully muted impression that I really like.
Can't wait to see it quilted. Good looking quilt.
A lot of work, but so very pretty! I like the mix of colors.
What a wonderful setting for your cabins. A very nice "for me" quilt.
Nice log cabin quilt.
Beautiful quilt and you've inspired me. We sold our home and everything in it as well. We're still sifting through the things we've kept, trying to find a place for them. I am going through tons of fabric and quilting things to see what will go to my guild and what I will keep. I'm not overwhelmed, but I can't seem to get my sewing mojo back. Your pic helps a lot!

Wow great log cabin, I had enough trouble making a 12 1/2 inch block there would be no way I could make one that size.
Very pretty, however, I don't think I could use 1" strips. I've done a couple table runners using 1 1/2" strips and that is as far as I'll go. Congratulations to you though on accomplishing this magnificent endeavor.
Nice and scrappy!
Great quilt! You did a wonderful job with the fabric and layout.
Very nicely done and I am glad you are going to keep it for you!
Good for you for treating yourself to a quilt! It's awesome!
Wow, that's quite a job!
Very pretty pattern and beautiful.
It's lovely Barb, I don't normally like scrappy but your strings have a pleasant blending.
It is just lovely - good luck with getting the time to complete it.
Finally finished it!! and slept under it last night. Now it looks and feels like home. Before I just had blankets on the bed. Will try to put a picture up later.

not a very good picture but you get the idea. It is just the right weight with one blanket under, and stays put better than the 2 blankets I had.
Very pretty quilt!
Oh how lovely! Log Cabins are the best!!!
