Ok, Marcia is SUCH an enabler!
We talked about chicken quilts and how I have a lack of fabric stores here and have to order most fabric online, and what arrives in my mailbox?

Thank you SOOOO much Marcia!
Now, we just have to get moving on these quilts!

The 2 fabrics on the left are black and white. One came out sort of blue in the pic

one more.......
There is a package of chicken tissue, but a naughty little girl cat has swiped them and ran off with them before I could get a picture. Now I have to hunt for them in the house. Silly cat!

Lovely fabrics! I MUST get started on SOMETHING for the chicken challenge! I've had fabric for ages from butterflywing and another yard I ordered online arrived yesterday - if you start, Terri, then maybe I'll get cracking as well! LOL

Terri--get busy--what pattern are you using?

Okay--I like the realistic looking ones too.

Terri--why not try what I'm doing with the black and white--just make several pieces and fit them together??? Then you can really play!! :D

pocoellie 04-07-2009 03:43 AM

Such cute fabric!! Marcia is a beautiful person too. In fact, I think there's a lot of beautiful people on board, who share and care.

The May 2009 issue of the Quilter Magazine has a pattern called "Break Out" that is absolutely adorable with chickens breaking out of their shells. Uses a chick wire print for a background and has a chick print for the border.

You might like to take a look at it. http://www.thequiltermag.com/issues/current.shtml#

It's the next to the last pattern

You'll probably be done before I even start!

Mamagus 04-07-2009 04:18 PM

Marcia strikes again! Gotta love her!

Terri I am so happy you're going to start the chicken quilt addiction! I just loved sitting in the evenings and doing a buttonhole stitch around all my fused applique chicks. Most relaxing thing I've done in years.

My quilt top is sitting waiting to be put together, but the reno here just keeps going and going and the floors are too dusty to put a quilt together!

How many others are getting hooked by Marcia's influence? I hope there are lots out there!

sandpat 04-07-2009 05:11 PM

We'll see I think when Mama starts the Chicken challenge thread!! :D

Mousie 04-07-2009 08:46 PM

I'm not gonna commit myself to a challenge...but with all this "cheep" talk, I owe, kind of, a lap quilt, to a friend and she loves chickens and ducks. I haven't seen any cute duck blocks  ...have already started collecting the chicken fabs though. :D
I never thought I would get spurred on about chickens, but sometimes they do come home to roost, so here I go...eventually, lol.
I like the whimsical one, Melissa did...can't match that, it's spectacular, but something fun :P , keeps my interest.
anywho, not sticking my neck out there  , but if/when, I will post a pic...don't hold yer cotton picking, chicken plucking breath about when though  .
By the way, LOL, WTG marcia  , for sending those great fabs out in a box to Terri...they must have been in a hurry and flapped their wings so hard, got their in break neck time. we'll all have chick n' dumplins when they come...

Celeste 04-07-2009 09:06 PM

Marcia, they're great, I like the egg one too...

Have fun Terri!

jacquemoe 04-07-2009 09:38 PM

Oh Wow, Terri. I think Marcia is trying to tell you something. Isn't she a doll! We're all going to be waiting to see what you do with those adorable chicken fabrics. Now the pressure is on

Thanks Jackie! I love the pressure!
How do you feel about the pressure of quilting it? lol

sandpat 04-08-2009 05:27 AM

I've been thinking about the quilting actually....I guess its all in the ditch type??? I guess we'll have to see...hmmmm...something to think about anyway.
